When the train arrived, the two people on right helped the woman up, and onto the train. They may have been caring for her, I’m not sure what the whole situation was about. But she reminded me very much of my own grandmother.
This was photographed with a 4×5 view camera (yes, a large format camera) back before 9-11 when you could still do such things. It is a long exposure and so the crowd on the station is blurred. Has, as you’d expect, very great detail.
Last year, I bought a very wide angle lens for my DSLR, and put it on a monopod which I set up to take low angle pictures of riders. I liked the distortion and the stringy feeling it gave to people. It seemed (at least to me) to make them appear more like statues.
Should call this one, ‘Ghosts’. One of a series of blurred experiments with people rushing through turnstyles.
