Photography Location: Photographed with infrared dslr from the Circle Line cruise with long lens in 2009. “Flame” stands out well in this shot.
The Circle Line Cruise was one of my best photo ops. As a lifelong New Yorker – of course I had never been on the Circle Line Cruise. But one day – it just seemed like the thing to do. I took a long zoom lens (70mm – 300mm) that had Image Stabilization and that was a great combination. Obviously the boat is moving. If you are going to use a long lens you’ll need to shoot at a fast speed like 1600 ASA and let’s face it, you need to know what you’re doing. But it is possible, if you are using a fast shutter speed, to get excellent views of Manhattan, the Bridges, and the Statue of Liberty.
