I’ve categorized the prints by location and divided Manhattan into three parts to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. In the 50s, when I was a boy, there were at least seven newspapers in New York filled with black and white pictures of New York. Media, during my formative years, was B&W. In other words, I was born into a black and white world. To this day, B&W is still reality for me. I don’t fool around with it much. On the other hand, my color photographs of New York are more painterly.
