RJ - I think that I’m just looking ahead (my own fate awaits); and backwards, that’s what it was like for me back then. The people in the middle are able to hide their state of existence better. Of course, the country is very youth-oriented. The ads are all about the fountain of youth for the boomers. But we may live longer, but you can only escape the infirmities of age for so long.

I had a chance to take a tour of MTA Headquarters a few weeks ago. I had expected to find a room filled with monitors and high-end computers; but I guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised to find out that this solitary man has been running the entire system with an HP laptop for the last five years. Although the fare has gone up several times recently - they claim that they still don’t have enough money to upgrade their IT department.

I got a chance to walk around a little and struck up a conversation with this stranger; and yes, asked if I could take this shot. He told me not to waste my time. Click. As mysterious for me as the Mona Lisa. Oh - and this was shot with the 50mm which I’ve been using more often lately.

Added about 20 prints from the last two months of digital shooting to the store. Hard to believe that it’s only been two months - but that’s what it is. Jan. 15th, I posted first G9 shot. And as you can tell, it’s now two months later and everything I posted was done with the 40d and 30mm lens. That’s a lot of shooting for me - considering that I probably only add about ten shots to the store per year. Combination of luck and enthusiasm.

With the recession settling in, many retailers have been selling mannequins a la carte. Here, KMart is having a sale on mannequin legs. What the legs are used for, I’m not sure, but they come complete with beach slippers (rubber soles) and slacks.
