Getting A Drink & Camera Rambling

25 April, 2008 (00:42) | New Yorkers, cameras | 2 comments

Down in the Wall Street area a few years ago. No - more than a few years ago since I remember shooting it with a Contax SLR which I had just picked up at Wall Street Camera of all places. I think they went out of business more than a few years ago. […]

The Decisive Moment (Uh - Chess)

24 April, 2008 (18:54) | * Dave Beckerman *, New Yorkers | No comments

(Who do you think is winning? Black has a passed pawn. White is ahead in material.)
I was once a fairly decent chess player (back in college). In fact, for a semester I made pocket money playing chess. One day I entered a chess tournament - for the fun of it. […]

Papal Visit, 87th Street

18 April, 2008 (19:16) | New Yorkers | 2 comments

Very white hat. It had a glow to it. And leather coat - that absorbed light and material that came by it. It is odd how you zero in on just one person out of the thousands who pass by. They are the opposite of invisible - they cry out to […]

Covered Up

17 April, 2008 (20:45) | New Yorkers | 3 comments

Here’s another fellow who cries out for at least one snap. It wasn’t that cold. I guess the gizmo stops cold air from getting into the lungs. But when I first saw him - I just thought it was ear warmer that was being worn too low.

Met’s Fan

14 April, 2008 (17:40) | New Yorkers | 2 comments

Ah - as everyone knows - Mets fans are a mellow bunch.  I spent most of my time photographing the crowd.  The reactions fell into three categories: joy, sorrow, and frustration.  The Mets had a 6 - 2 lead against the Brewers - but ended up losing 9-6.  Perez, who was pitching, skipped over the […]
