Picnic, Central Park - (date unknown)

In case you’re wondering if there’s some back story to this shot - there isn’t. It is just as it appears, and I left them in peace rather than asking whassup with that.
Details requested:

Other details: they’re eating Lido Cookies; the bread says, French Bread; and oh, this is a nice touch, there are a pair of roller blades under the knapsack that’s directly behind them.

This shot is definitely a classic in more ways then one. I just love looking at this image and being consumed by the details. Are you sure this isn’t from some movie shoot? It’s just such a great shot.

No movie set. No cameras. They were on the grass by the west side of the Metropolitan (i.e. it is behind them). Behind me is the main loop that circles the park for cars and runners etc. What I remember as I walked by was that nobody paid any attention to them. I had to get fairly close - this was shot with a wide-angle lens. It’s cropped slightly so that you can pick up the details on the web. (I came across it while I was pulling negatives for the Central Park book I’m working on.)

Can you pick up the title of the record on the sleave? Yes I know I’m obsessing.

Ah to be a voyeur into someone else’s life. I hope it was a great romantic time for both of them and credits to you for leaving them in peace in their own little world.
