Triboro & Roosevelt Island

Probably will reshoot this again - did it at f1.4 (no reason for that since it’s on the tripod). But I got my new Intuos Wacom 6 x 8 tablet SE, and this was a nice piece to work on. Wow - do I love this tablet. Comes with all sorts of nibs, and a second pen. Also comes with a coupon to get PS3 at an upgrade price (since it comes with PS Elements). Anyway - I’ve been using CS since it came out - and I just bought PS3 for $300. That’s movin’ on up.
As far as the bridge spelling goes - I suppose it should be triborough, but we always thought of it as Triboro.

It is rare for me - but lately I’ve been developing these warm fuzzy feelings about the digital stuff, not just the hardware like the camera and the tablet, but even the software like Lightroom. I hope there’s nothing wrong with me. I’m a little worried because normally I don’t get real attached to these material things; but now I feel like Archie Bunker must have felt about his living room armchair. Maybe it’s connected with all the “feel good” pills that have been pissed into the water supply.
Remember, though it may only be very small amounts, the pills are related to what the populace is taking, and in New York I would say that anti-anxiety medications are the most prescribed drugs; which would mean that New York tap water is most poluted with feel good pills. Ah, maybe this is the time to seriously bottle New York tap water; while it’s still filled with prescription drugs.

If that is the case Dave, then the water must still be quite polluted by the time it reaches England….I too have this inexplicable attachment with Lightroom. Photographer friends have taken to ignoring me when I mention the ‘L’ word - but it is fantastic - doing virtually everything I need (unless I really screw up and need some Photoshop help - if any clients read this - mistakes never happen….).
You know, I even love my little Huey screen calibrator, which shines a light at me every ten minutes…bless it.

Dave,
Enjoying the new digital work.
I’m see you are not offering the new 40D/Sigma stuff in 16X24 (16X20). Are you not satisfied with the output at that size? Can’t imagine that digital combo doesn’t hold up up to it.
Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob -
I’ve routinely been printing them at 12 x 18 w/o any issues. I haven’t done enough testing at larger sizes to offer them at say 16 x 24. Remember, I’m shooting a lot of these at f1.4 @ 1600 ASA. I tend to be very conservative when offering prints - and want to print each one at a large size before offering it for sale.

By coincidence, my Wacom 6×8 came last week, sure is a nice piece of kit. Came back from an assignment a few days ago and found my 4 year old had drawn on it with a biro…..it came off!! Lesson learned, don’t let 4 year olds engage in role play with anything photography related.
