2008 CALENDAR

15 November, 2007 (03:32) | black and white photography

Obviously I’m caught up in this publishing world for now.  I’m deep into inDesign now, working on the next book.

I’m also beginning to work with another publisher that does Fine Art Short Runs. Still in the testing phase. I want to be able to print say 40 of the New York Mementos at a serious discount while still maintaining the quality I’ve been getting from SharedInk.com

And I won’t make any money from this calendar, as it is expensive to produce, but it’s just another one of those things that have been on my todo list for a few years (printed with SharedInk.com). And although I call it ‘New York’ (that nomenclature is getting tiring) there’s one print that isn’t from New York.  I’m sure you can easily spot it.

Here’s where you can view the included images: Calendar Page.

I think so, too.
Dave, why did you choose a photograph of Atlantic City?

If I sell too many at this price, I may go broke :)

It costs $25 to produce; and I’m paying for shipping which takes it to around $33 (and not currently charging for shipping); which makes my overall profit $7 on ea. calendar. So you can see it’s not exactly practical right now - but I’ll keep it at that price while I work on some other variations, i.e. I’d love to do a Bronx one; a subway one; a pure Central Park one etc. Then I’ll charge postage, and bump up the price $5 or so and see what happens.

Why Atlantic City - ah - just liked it as a counter point to all the New York stuff. New York seems so much more New York when it’s lined up next to something else of beauty.

Looks great Dave, any intentions of trying to sell them to calendar companies and get a wider distribution? Or would that be a big hassel dealing with them maybe?
Just a thought. Paul S in RI
