Greek Book Cover
Received Greek novel which has my Boy With Dog image on cover. The novel is called, Boy at the Pier.
Hey - what happened to the dog? Cropped and photoshopped out. Here’s the original for your viewing enjoyment. Now I just need to brush up on my Greek. Speaking of photoshopping, now the Yanks are going to have to photoshop A-Rod out of all the promo pictures.
My own book is coming along now. I’m dealing with about 75 images and it’s starting to take shape. I’ve changed the name for the 90th time. Now it’s very working title is, Manhattan Moments although there are so many long exposures, I should call it Manhattan Minutes.

Nice!
Did you have to track down the kid & get a model release for the book?

They paid me nicely; and quickly. The way I do these international sales is by sending a paypal invoice. The person on the other end can use a credit card. This is better than wire transfers - because there are fees involved with this; and a couple of other PITA issues.
Once paid - I send the digital file; and a license to use the file. Very straight-foward.

I never do model-releases (just no feasible); but I also won’t sell any shot that makes the person look bad for commercial purposes.
Woman with Head in Hands - for example is constantly asked for - but I won’t sell that image for commercial use. I do include it in my own book; and I do offer it for sale “as art.” Where you draw the line - I don’t know exactly - but there is a line there somewhere and I try to figure out what it is.

Are you sure you didn’t Photoshop the dog into the original image?
Just kiddin’
Stephen
P.S. Thanks for all the information about P.O.D. The reports you provide are invaluable, not simply because they contrast the merits of different companies, but also because they let us know what to look out for if exploring alternatives.

Beware of Greeks bearing gifts, Dave. The actual translation of the title is “The Last Met Fan.”
